Date: 2007-03-14 11:40 Subject: Fourth World Security: Public Mood: annoyed

1. Two innocent kids die in Bangalore, they were attacked by stray dogs, the govt has come up with the decision to kill all stray dogs... *claps*
2. Ten innocent kids die in a freak accident, the police confirmed it was due to drunk driving, the court awarded the driver 10years imprisonment... *claps*, well! justice has been upheld.
3. Due to the increase in the number of kids begging on the roads, the govt plans to give compulsory birth control to all citizen who live below the poverty line... *shocked, inhumane barbarians*
4. A man has raped and buried, umpteen number of innocent kids in his own backyard... *we can give him life-sentence, but not capital punishment*, after all we are humans, and killing is not the solution to our problems.

BUT

Being Humans... gives us the rights to kill all dogs, give them birth control, or genetically modify them!!! They have become a menace to our environment, the very same environment we took away from them, to build our concrete nightmares, we dont want them, so we drive them to extinction...

Huh!!! iam not professing going back to the jungle, or trying to live in sync with our environment. Civilization and adaptation will go on, the dogs will learn to live in our streets, eat from our dustbins, kill a human in self-defense, or die of starvation.

Do we as humans, have a responsibility towards these dogs? or do we turn away as they are being shot and hauled into a truck ? Is this the right attitude? do we want our kids to grow up believing, the fastest solution to the problem is escapism ?

Violence towards these hapless animals, is humane, but nazi killing the jews is inhumane, c’mon people the jews were a socio-economic threat to the nazi, how can u blame them!!!

p.s. Iam writing this caz of a frnd of mine, who after a day of slogging in the office, is willing to sit at one in the night and write a letter to Deccan Herald, hoping he would make a difference.

p.s.1. I have lost all hope in Human kind a long time back, i believe the govt will go ahead and kill the dogs, and any amount of screaming from people will not make a difference.

p.s.2. the above cited 2,3,4 are not actual incidents, but hypothetical situations, and the reaction of people to it.
